Art workshops are a great way for kids and adults to have fun and learn a new skill!
Detroit Institute of Art Docent Workshop
Docents from the Detroit Institute of Arts were invited to Gail’s studio for a presentation on the artist’s work, and also had the opportunity to create small personal artworks featuring the Rodin Sculpture that graces the entrance to the DIA as seen in the sand art image below.
Neiman Marcus Shoe Event
At an event raising funds for Children's Hospital of Michigan, Neiman Marcus shoppers were invited to create their own take-home sand-art shoes featuring stylish designs by top brands. Similar events can be held for bridal showers, milestone birthdays, and more!
Sand installations by Gail
Gail can be hired to create individual pieces or larger installations to highlight products, institutional missions, and more. Here we see a series of work she did honoring art masterpieces.
Holiday themed workshops
In this workshop commemorating the Jewish holiday of Passover, children create 3-D sand-art pyramids. They collapse down for easy storage throughout the year.
Bookmark workshops
In this workshop participants make sand-art bookmarks to use when reading their favorite books.
Accomplished artist and outstanding teacher, Gail Rosenbloom Kaplan will bring another dimension to your project. Under her direction, 3rd through 8th grade students at MPA created a beautiful and meaningful mosaic based on their studies of the state of Michigan. Gail incorporated the students’ original drawings into the final design, and taught them how to cut glass, adhere the glass, and more. The kids worked happily and with pride to bring the final piece to life- It was a memorable experience for everyone!
The short version- Gail is fantastic! There is no end to her imagination, creativity and capacity to work with others.
Fused glass workshop
In this workshop, participants create ritual objects such as candlesticks made of fused glass.
